Sports physiotherapy in Nuremberg: Return to Sport

FLOW Physiotherapie at Plärrer supports athletes step by step on their way back to training and competition after an injury. In one-to-one sessions we build up mobility, strength and load capacity, adapted to your sport and your goal.

Return to Sport

Back to your sport, step by step

After an injury, the question is usually the same: when can I train fully again? We do not answer it by gut feeling but together with you, based on what your body shows during treatment. We build up mobility, strength and load capacity in stages, with the aim of making training and competition possible again.

  • One-to-one treatment with a plan you can follow
  • Active training rather than passive treatment alone
  • Exercises you can take into your own training

Why athletes come to us

These are the reasons we see most often in sports physiotherapy:

Muscle injuries

Torn muscle fibres, strains and bruises, for example in the thigh or calf.

Ligaments and joints

Torn ligaments, sprained ankles, complaints after cruciate ligament or meniscus injuries.

After an operation

Rebuilding mobility, strength and load capacity after surgery on the knee, hip or shoulder.

Overload in training

Complaints in the Achilles tendon, knee or shin that appear as training volume increases.

Experience from club sports

We know what training is like

Our team brings its own experience from volleyball, athletics, football, triathlon, climbing and swimming. We have supported track and field athletes, taken on athletic training for club teams and helped football and handball clubs with their pre-season preparation.

Also possible without a prescription

Come straight to us, without seeing a doctor first

As a sectoral non-medical practitioner for physiotherapy, we may treat you without a doctor’s prescription. Especially after a fresh sports injury, this saves time. If a more serious injury such as a fracture or torn ligament is suspected, we recommend seeing a doctor first. With a prescription, we bill your health insurance as usual.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between sports physiotherapy and physiotherapy?

Sports physiotherapy is physiotherapy with a view to the demands of your sport. The goal is not only everyday life but also the load in training and competition. That is why active training and a gradual return play a bigger role.

When can I train again after an injury?

There is no general answer. We decide together with you based on mobility, strength and load capacity and, where necessary, in consultation with your doctor.

Do you also work with clubs and teams?

Yes. We have supported clubs with athletic training and pre-season preparation. Feel free to get in touch.

Can I come without a prescription after a sports injury?

Yes. As a sectoral non-medical practitioner for physiotherapy, we may treat you without a doctor’s prescription, in that case as a self-payer. We tell you the costs in advance.

Is treatment possible in English?

Yes. Our entire team speaks English. Just let us know when you book.
