Physiotherapy in Nuremberg

Services & Treatments

FLOW Physiotherapie offers individual treatment with the goal of Return to Work and Return to Sport. Our approach is multimodal: we combine different treatment methods with one another to achieve the best possible outcome together with you – from integrative manual therapy to PNF exercise therapy to breathing and fascial therapy. Every service is tailored to your personal goals.

Integrative Manual Therapy

IMT is a modern osteopathic technique combining myofascial release with grips from classic manual therapy. It traces cause-and-effect chains that don't respect the usual boundaries between specialties.

Often for neck and shoulder complaints, restricted mobility in the hip, knee or spine, and headaches originating in the cervical spine.

Physiotherapy Exercise Treatment

A versatile therapy that also uses passive stretching techniques, with specific training adapted to your condition.

Often for back pain, knee and hip complaints, after surgery and for muscular imbalances caused by one-sided strain.

Exercise Treatment after PNF

PNF exercise treatment (CNS) uses targeted therapeutic stimuli, influencing the nervous system, to promote natural movement patterns and improve mobility, coordination and strength – particularly relevant for neurological conditions, prolonged immobility or movement disorders.

Often after a stroke, with multiple sclerosis and Parkinson's disease, and when rebuilding movement patterns after injuries to the shoulder, hip or knee.

Breathing Therapy

A specialist area of exercise therapy focused on the interplay between breathing regulation and active mobilisation of the relevant parts of the body. Used in elite sport, with post-Covid patients, or for vascular conditions.

Often for persistent shortness of breath and fatigue after a prolonged respiratory illness, for asthma and COPD, and for tension in the chest and diaphragm.

Fascial Therapy / FDM according to Typaldos

The Fascial Distortion Model is a concept from osteopathy. The body's fascial network acts as a tension regulator – the therapy creates an interplay between passive pressure/traction and active movement in the affected area.

Often for tension in the neck and back, movement-related pain, and complaints that cannot be clearly attributed to a single joint.

Kinesiology Taping

Taping is a useful addition to therapy. Ahead of a competition, it can support muscle activity. The concept can also be used to support nerve tissue, connective tissue and the lymphatic system.

Often as an accompaniment for shoulder and knee problems, neck tension and swelling after injury – always a complement, never a sole treatment.

What we treat

What patients come to us with

Complaints can rarely be reduced to a single spot – an aching neck often has to do with the shoulder, a knee with the hip. That is why we look at the whole musculoskeletal system, even when you arrive with a clearly defined problem. Which of the six methods we use depends on the findings – usually it is a combination.

Neurology and movement control

Rebuilding natural movement patterns after a stroke, with multiple sclerosis or Parkinson's disease, and for limitations in coordination and balance.

Back and spine

Back pain in the lumbar and thoracic region, tension, complaints after a herniated disc, pain radiating into the leg.

Hip, knee and foot

Knee pain under load, hip complaints, condition after cruciate ligament or meniscus injury, complaints after joint replacement, Achilles tendon and foot problems.

After injury and surgery

Rebuilding mobility, strength and resilience with the goal of Return to Work and Return to Sport.

Neck and shoulder

Tension in the neck, shoulder pain, restricted movement in the shoulder girdle, headaches originating in the cervical spine. Common with predominantly sedentary work.

Breathing and resilience

Persistent shortness of breath and fatigue after a prolonged respiratory illness, breathing regulation in sport, tension in the chest.

Sports injuries

Muscle tears, strains, ligament ruptures, ankle injuries and overuse complaints in training. In a movement analysis we look at how you actually move – which shows what to work on for your return to sport and competition.

Recurring complaints

Complaints that keep coming back, move around, or for which no clear cause has been found so far. We look at the connections beyond the spot that hurts – that is the core of our holistic approach.

Work and everyday strain

One-sided strain at work – at a desk, on a building site or in nursing care. Complaints from lifting, carrying or prolonged sitting, and the way back to full resilience in your working day.

Not sure whether your complaints fit? Give us a call – we will tell you honestly whether we are the right place for you.
