Manual therapy in Nuremberg

Headaches, jaw or neck tension?

Integrative Manual Therapy combines osteopathically inspired techniques with classic manual therapy. We look at the connections beyond the painful spot – in a structured way that you can follow.

When complaints keep coming back

Does this sound familiar?

You have already seen several doctors or therapists. One said it comes from the jaw, another from the neck. Nobody ever explained to you why the complaints keep returning.

  • You feel that only the painful spot is ever treated.
  • Your complaints are probably connected – jaw, neck, head – but nobody has looked at them as a whole.
  • You have become sceptical when practices advertise a “holistic” approach without explaining what they mean by it.

What is Integrative Manual Therapy?

IMT looks at the body as a system of muscle, fascia and joint chains. Instead of treating the painful joint in isolation, we follow the chain of cause and effect – a jaw problem can just as well start in the pelvis or the cervical spine.

Assessment along the chain

We examine not only the painful spot but also the neighbouring structures and movement chains.

Myofascial techniques

Targeted manual techniques on joints, muscles and fascia – tailored to your assessment.

A plan you can follow

After every session you understand why we work where we do. No promises, but an approach you can follow along.

Why patients come to us

  • Jaw joint problems (TMD) – jaw clicking, teeth grinding, tension in the chewing muscles
  • Headaches and migraine – often originating in neck or jaw structures
  • Cervical spine syndrome and neck tension – restricted movement of the cervical spine
  • SI joint blockages – complaints in the sacroiliac joint radiating into the back and hip
  • Hip complaints – even when imaging findings are unremarkable
  • Recurring tension – that comes back despite massage or heat

How your treatment works

Thorough assessment

We listen and examine your musculoskeletal system as a whole – not just the spot that hurts.

2

Treatment plan

You get a plan you can follow: which structure we treat and why, and what you can contribute yourself.

3

Manual treatment

Myofascial and osteopathically inspired techniques, tailored to the assessment.

4

Aftercare

Exercises and strategies for everyday life, so that the treatment carries on beyond the appointment.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a doctor’s prescription?

Not necessarily. As we hold a sectoral Heilpraktiker licence for physiotherapy, we may also treat you without a doctor’s prescription – you then pay privately. With a prescription we bill as usual.

How long does an appointment take?

The first appointment is deliberately longer so that we can understand how your complaints are connected. Follow-up appointments depend on your treatment plan.

When is manual therapy not the right choice?

With acute inflammation, fresh fractures or certain neurological diagnoses it is not the first choice. During the assessment we work out together whether it suits you or whether another treatment is a better fit.
