Fascial therapy in Nuremberg
Fascial Therapy and FDM according to Typaldos
The Fascial Distortion Model is a concept from osteopathy. How you describe your pain and show it with your hands is an essential part of the assessment – the treatment technique is derived from it.
With movement-dependent complaints
When the pain changes with movement
Some complaints are hard to pin down: the pain moves around, changes depending on the movement or cannot be located precisely. Patterns like these are exactly what fascial therapy according to the Fascial Distortion Model works with.
- Your tension or pain changes with certain movements.
- You tend to describe your pain with gestures rather than words – rubbing, pressing, pulling.
- The complaints keep coming back, even though quite a few things have already been tried.
What is the Fascial Distortion Model?
FDM assigns pain patterns to six typical distortions in the fascial tissue. Based on your description and your body language, we assign your complaints to one of these patterns and choose the matching technique – a combination of passive pressure or traction and active movement.

Frequently asked questions
Is the treatment painful?
The techniques can be intense for a short time. We agree the intensity with you and adjust it – tell us at any time if it is too much.
Do I need a doctor’s prescription?
Not necessarily. As we hold a sectoral Heilpraktiker licence for physiotherapy, we may also treat you without a prescription.
How many appointments are needed?
That depends on the assessment and cannot be reliably determined in advance. After the first appointment we estimate it together with you.
